Current concepts of reproductive immuno-biology.

Literature on immunological aspects of reproductive biology is reviewed. Topics discussed include 1) immunological aspects of choriocarcinoma, 2) the female response to various antigens of semen, 3) the uterus as an immunologically "privileged" site, 4) the elicitation and expression of immunity in the uterus, 5) the influence of histoincompatibility and the immune status of the mother as determinants of the size of the feto-placental unit, 6) the maternal-fetal exchange of trophoblast cells, 7) maternal leukocyte isoimmunization and its consequences, 8) the maternal-fetal transfer of leukocytes, 9) graft vs. host disease and lymphomas, and 10) the immunological consequences of breast-feeding.
